Our Vision

Leading Our Learning - Whai Akoranga

Our Mission

To empower and lead our Tamariki to value their learning, identity, Whanau, and place.

Lets stay on ...

As the new Principal of Ward School I look forward to seeing how our Tamariki continue to develop and grow as active learners and participants in our community. Our vision of Leading Our Learning – Whai Akoranga drives everyone to be on TRACK at Ward School. We want our learners to know that they can make a difference to what and how they learn, the choices they make, and the relationships they have with others and their environment. Our “On TRACK” school values of being Together, Respectful, Adaptable, Creative, and Kind are the foundation of how we think, act, behave and grow at Ward School. At Ward School we create opportunities for every learner to have success and feel inspired to lead their learning by using “On TRACK” values all the way to the SEA. We want our awesome students to be Self-managing, Engaged, Active learners who think critically and seek to make positive impacts in their current and future communities.

We will look to start a novel study this week for reading. Writing will continue to look at the features of creative narratives and Maths will continue with Geometry and Multiplication/ Division. We will also have the ladies from Te Tai O Maokura coming on Wednesday to start our Kapa Haka programme. Our Behaviour focus continues this week. we are looking at "I can work with anyone I am grouped with" - This is about showing respect to all group members, actively participating and contributing positively.

Just an FYI but I am out of school on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday at a variety of Meetings and Professional Development but I will still be contactable by email. Here is to a great week!
