As the new Principal of Ward School I look forward to seeing how our Tamariki continue to develop and grow as active learners and participants in our community. Our vision of Leading Our Learning – Whai Akoranga drives everyone to be on TRACK at Ward School. We want our learners to know that they can make a difference to what and how they learn, the choices they make, and the relationships they have with others and their environment. Our “On TRACK” school values of being Together, Respectful, Adaptable, Creative, and Kind are the foundation of how we think, act, behave and grow at Ward School. At Ward School we create opportunities for every learner to have success and feel inspired to lead their learning by using “On TRACK” values all the way to the SEA. We want our awesome students to be Self-managing, Engaged, Active learners who think critically and seek to make positive impacts in their current and future communities.

Swimming Pool is now CLOSED

Hi all, just a note to let you know that we have now closed the Swimming Pool for the season. With the temperatures dropping the heat pump has been freezing. It is also making it difficult to maintain water quality. Being closed means we will no longer check chlorine and pH levels, and the heat pump will be turned off. If you have rented a key we would love them to be dropped back to the office.

Swimmin Sports Tomorrow

Afternoon All,

A quick reminder about swimming sports tomorrow.

Please ensure your child brings:

Swimming togs
A towel (or two)
A packed lunch
A sun hat
A shirt to wear over their togs between races

We will begin with two heat races at 11.15am, followed by the width races before lunch. At lunchtime, we will put the lanes in and then complete the final races in the afternoon. All of the races after lunch are the final races.

A big thank you to the parents who are providing transport and meeting us at the pool — we really appreciate your support.

I will also need two or three parent helpers tomorrow to stand at the end of the lanes. If you are available to assist, please let me know.
