As the new Principal of Ward School I look forward to seeing how our Tamariki continue to develop and grow as active learners and participants in our community. Our vision of Leading Our Learning – Whai Akoranga drives everyone to be on TRACK at Ward School. We want our learners to know that they can make a difference to what and how they learn, the choices they make, and the relationships they have with others and their environment. Our “On TRACK” school values of being Together, Respectful, Adaptable, Creative, and Kind are the foundation of how we think, act, behave and grow at Ward School. At Ward School we create opportunities for every learner to have success and feel inspired to lead their learning by using “On TRACK” values all the way to the SEA. We want our awesome students to be Self-managing, Engaged, Active learners who think critically and seek to make positive impacts in their current and future communities.

The Stadium 2000 is keen to introduce Under Water Hockey to as many Year 5 and older children, as possible at thier upcoming Have a Go days later in the month.
Under Water Hockey suits those who love the water, love diving, snorkeling etc but don't necessarily want to swim length after length. The Have a Go days are on the 19th and 26th February. Please see attached poster for times and details.
Here is a link provided on how to play the game https://youtu.be/aTqkhr_5-Eo?si=e6IgUHjKjauc3GRL
As part of our fundraising efforts for upcoming camps and education outside the classroom events, we are looking to participate in the Market Day at the Heritage Centre on February 21st. We will be making fire starters to sell and require the following materials;
egg cartons
brown paper bags ( ex supermarket)
lint from the dryer
Also, we would be interested in donations to sell on the school sale table of;
walnuts
pinecones
lemons
eggs
fruit / veges
Anything people can afford give.
Another thing is, we would gladly welcome any of the Lego from the Woolworths promotion. This makes a great wet day box activity & promotes fine motor skills.
