As the new Principal of Ward School I look forward to seeing how our Tamariki continue to develop and grow as active learners and participants in our community. Our vision of Leading Our Learning – Whai Akoranga drives everyone to be on TRACK at Ward School. We want our learners to know that they can make a difference to what and how they learn, the choices they make, and the relationships they have with others and their environment. Our “On TRACK” school values of being Together, Respectful, Adaptable, Creative, and Kind are the foundation of how we think, act, behave and grow at Ward School. At Ward School we create opportunities for every learner to have success and feel inspired to lead their learning by using “On TRACK” values all the way to the SEA. We want our awesome students to be Self-managing, Engaged, Active learners who think critically and seek to make positive impacts in their current and future communities.

Wednesday Afternoon Paid Union Meeting for Teaching Staff

Hello All

This is just a note to say that tomorrow afternoon there will be a paid union meeting for NZEI teaching staff. School will remain open with Mrs Sloan taking Rock Pool. Mr Sangster will be taking Wave Pool and Reef for the afternoon. If the weather permits, we will look to do some outdoor game activities with the help of our senior leaders. If wet, we will be doing indoor activities. Morning classes will run as usual.

SKI TRIP CANCELLED

Hello all,

Unfortunately, after consulting with the mountain and the weather forecast for Mt Lyford, we have made the decision to cancel tomorrow's ski trip. I know there will be a number of disappointed children (and parents!). As this was already our postponement day, we do not have another date for the ski trip. Thank you for your understanding. This current snowstorm should leave the mountain in good condition for the weekend. If you are able, I strongly encourage you to support the mountain and take the family for a day.
